The global transition toward clean energy, advanced technologies, and electric mobility is driving unprecedented demand for critical minerals that underpin modern industrial and renewable energy systems. As countries accelerate efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, minerals such as rare earth elements, lithium, graphite, and nickel have become essential components of the global energy and technology supply chain.
Africa is increasingly emerging as a strategic partner in meeting this demand, given its vast mineral potential and growing role within the global green and digital economy. Within this evolving landscape, Kenya is positioning itself as an emerging and competitive destination for responsible mining investment, supported by progressive policy reforms, improved geological data, and a strong commitment to sustainable and transparent resource development.
The Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs; State Department for Mining, through the National Mining Corporation (NAMICO)is implementing a deliberate strategy to unlock the country’s Critical Mineral potential and integrate Kenya more competitively into the global mineral value chain. As part of this national agenda, the Ministry will convene the Kenya Mining Investment Conference & Expo (MICE) 2026, scheduled to take place at the Argyle Grand Hotel, Nairobi, on 28–29 April 2026.
The conference will serve as Kenya’s premier mining investment platform, bringing together policymakers, global investors, mining companies, financial institutions, development partners, technology providers, and mining communities to explore opportunities within the country’s rapidly evolving mineral sector.
More than a traditional conference, MICE 2026 is designed as a strategic investment marketplace—where government presents viable opportunities, investors engage directly with project developers and regulators, and stakeholders forge partnerships that support the sustainable growth of Kenya’s mining industry.
The event is expected to convene over 500 delegates from across Africa and the global mining ecosystem, creating a credible platform for investment dialogue, partnership development, and collaboration across the entire mineral value chain.
